Program of Intelligent Manufacturing Engineering

I. Training objectives

This major aims at developing high-quality engineering and technical personnel with: (1)comprehensive basic theory and expertise of intelligent manufacturing engineering, (2)overall development of moral, intellectual, physical, aesthetics and labor, (3)solid basic theory, (4) reasonable knowledge structure, (5)strong adaptability, (6)full of innovative entrepreneurship and practical ability, (7)good humanity accomplishment and sense of social responsibility, (8)ability to engage in the design and manufacturing, engineering development, scientific research and production management of intelligent manufacturing systems in the fields related to intelligent manufacturing engineering. The graduates of this major are expected to achieve the following goals in five years:

Aim 1: having solid foundation knowledge of mathematic and natural science, good humanistic quality, social responsibility, and professional ethic.

Aim 2: mastering basic theory and professional knowledge of intelligent manufacturing engineering, having consciousness of innovation and engineering practice abilities in design and manufacturing, engineering development, operation and maintenance management of intelligent manufacturing systems.

Aim 3: having literature search and data inquiry capabilities, familiar with dynamic and development trend of intelligent manufacturing filed.

Aim 4: having good expression, communication, teamwork, and organization management abilities.

Aim 5: having awareness of lifelong learning, abilities of continuous learning and adapting to development.

Aim 6: having international perspective and ability of foreign language application.

II. Graduation requirements

1. Mastering interdisciplinary fusion professional knowledge for intelligent manufacturing.

2. Ability to use the scientific theoretical knowledge and technical methods to discover manufacturing engineering problems, ability to systematically express, model-build, analyze, solve, and demonstrate manufacturing engineering problems.

3. Ability to analyze and solve practical problems during intelligent manufacturing process, and carry out scientific research, having basic ability to develop new systems and products.

4. Ability to study complex engineering issues such as data processing, performance evaluation, correction and improvement of engineering projects or product production processes based on scientific principles and methods.

5. Having abilities for new structures design & manufacturing, intelligent manufacturing and servicing via systematic training and practice of mechanical design, mechanical manufacturing, electro-hydraulic control engineering, and intelligent manufacturing.

6. Mastering good humanities knowledge, cultivating humanities and social sciences literacy, social responsibility, engineering professional ethics.

7. Having good economy, quality, safety, benefit, environment, law, ethics and service awareness, and basic ability to deal with crises and emergencies.

8. Can comply with the professional ethics and standard during intelligent manufacturing engineering projects, fulfill responsibilities.

9. Able to play the role of individual, team member and person in charge in a multidisciplinary team.

10. Ability to communicate with industry peers and public on complex engineering problems in intelligent manufacturing engineering fields, having a certain international perspective, and able to communicate in a cross-cultural context.

11. Ability to apply engineering technology and management theory methods to analyze and make decisions when facing multi-disciplinary environment for intelligent manufacturing engineering.

12. Having a correct understanding of lifelong learning, can learn continuously and be adapt to development.

Students who have completed the required graduation credits and met the graduation requirements of Wuhan University of Science and Technology will  be awarded a bachelor's degree in Engineering.
